Starting salary – Trust Management scale points

20 (£50,407) to 24 – (£55,213)

Full-time, 52 weeks from September 2024

Location: As this is a Lighthouse Learning Trust opportunity the successful candidate will be based at one site (depending on home location), but will be required to split their week between Richard Taunton College in Southampton and St Vincent College in Gosport.

Following a period of growth and development, the Lighthouse Learning Trust (comprising of Richard Taunton Sixth Form College in Southampton and St Vincent College in Gosport) are seeking to appoint an inspirational leader to undertake the strategic development and management of inclusive working practices and learning support provision for our colleges.

This is a new senior position that will work with curriculum and support teams to ensure that all students benefit from access to the highest standards of inclusive practice and learning support whilst also identifying opportunities for further expansion of our provision and services.

This post will provide strategic leadership of key college services and resources that enable all students to succeed and progress. They will take responsibility for the management and leadership of:

• The strategic development and operational delivery of learning support provision for high needs students across Trust Sixth Forms (including adult provision);

• Championing inclusive working practices across the Trust, including the development and delivery of training for all staff

• Delivery of high-quality additional learning support services across the Trust for all learners, leading to high levels of achievement, retention and progression

• Trust lead in relation to compliance with the SEND Code of Practice

• The financial contribution from income streams, and the efficient and effective use of resources and financial management of high needs provision

• Leadership of high-quality Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) annual review processes

• Development of new opportunities for the Trust to increase the breadth of our work in relation to high needs provision

• Exam Access Arrangements, including assessment, intervention and developing the use of assistive technologies

The postholder will be responsible for delivering improvement in student achievement for those with identified learning difficulties and disabilities. We are committed to widening access and participation, and a key element of this role will be to ensure that the student experience is truly inclusive, and that students from a diverse range of backgrounds and with differing individual needs are given the right support to succeed in their studies.

The role provides an excellent opportunity to build, shape and manage our learning support services; to develop and deliver projects and to shape innovative services which are essential to the continued development of the Trust and our students.

We are looking for an innovative and experienced practitioner to join us who has already enjoyed success in a managing performance improvement in a learning support setting. A teaching qualification and SENCO qualification (or willingness to obtain) is a requirement of this post.
