2 days a week in Richard Taunton Sixth Form College, 2 days a week in St Vincent Sixth Form College – to be arranged once in post.
Salary scale: £36,281 (FTE) £21,337 (Actual)
Lighthouse Learning Trust is seeking a highly motivated, passionate, and experienced Learning Mentor to work with our Digital Skills team and Study Supervisors across both colleges. The successful candidate will be key in assisting our students to achieve and to complete their assignments. We are currently recruiting a digitally competent tutor specifically to help in our Learning Centres across both campuses.
All our courses promote diversity, prioritise individual needs, and foster a strong sense of lifelong learning. The Independent Study sessions support students to gain valuable skills and knowledge and promote overall health and wellbeing.
Essential requirements for Mentors:
- English, ICT/IT and Maths qualifications at Level 2 (essential) ideally with at least a B Grade/Grade 6 in GCSE English and Maths.
- Experience of providing high level, personalised academic support for young people and vulnerable adults including those with a range of learning and physical disabilities
- Experience of leading and facilitating mentoring activities, including tutoring
- Experience of working independently under specific guidance and direction
- Experience of working within a team and effectively contributing to excellent team dynamics
- Experience of using Microsoft Teams Classrooms and Office 365 applications
- Experience of working to and complying with policies and procedures, particularly relating to the health, safety and welfare of others
Ideally you will have:
- Teaching, assessing or Teaching Assistant (TA) qualification
